Corewell Health: Shaping GR's Medical Mile

A new addition to the area known as the "Medical Mile" is Corewell Health's new outpatient center.
This 12-story, 240,000 sq ft building brings together several outpatient services, West Michigan's only heart and lung transplant center and residency clinics, and an education/training simulation center.

Nearby in the Monroe North neighborhood is the new Center for Transformation and Innovation, a headquarters building of more than 300,000 sq ft, over 8 floors, with parking decks and a two-level connector bridge to a renovated four story office building.

Presenter Bios

Alan Kranzo, Senior Director of Real Estate Strategy, Corewell Health

Alan leads real estate strategy for Corewell Health System, which includes over 23 million square feet in more than 500 different facilities across the state of Michigan. With over 35 years of healthcare experience, Alan collaborates with executive leadership, physician and clinician leaders, and other operational stakeholders to contribute in lowering costs and improving access to care for our patients. Alan is currently leading our new healthcare system through a comprehensive Enterprise Strategic Facility Plan that will provide a long-term roadmap aligned with our strategic goals and financial plans. The overarching goal is provide the healthcare system the optimal real estate portfolio it needs for the best care in a more efficient environment, increasing value, decreasing cost, improving outcomes.

Alan has extensive experience in engaging others in a positive working environment as a leader in real estate planning and development, and financial stewardship.


Alex Pitt, Manager of Real Estate, Corewell Health West / South Region

Alex is the manager of Real Estate for Corewell Health West / South Region and has over 18 years of Real Estate and healthcare experience with the organization. Alex has been part of many major development initiatives, including buildings on the Medical Mile and integrated care campuses, as well as acquisitions of various regional hospitals and clinical practices. As the Principal Broker for the organization, he is engaged in multiple real estate strategy initiatives including property acquisition, disposition, lease negotiation, lease life cycle management, property management, condominium management, and many more.
