May 8, 2013- Kris Larson, Executive Director of Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority (DDA) joined us for this meeting to give us a general overview of the organization. Mr. Larson talked about some of the current initiatives happening Downtown.

April 10, 2013- Robert Austin, Fire Chief of the Wyoming Fire Department, provided an overview of what the Fire Department looks for when doing a fire safety inspection and what you as the property manager can do to prepare for this inspection. Chief Austin also did a quick review of Fire Department services available to property managers.

March 13, 2013 - BOMA West Michigan & USGBC West Michigan Joint Meeting: Gordon Food Service Tour. BOMA West Michigan and USGBC members toured the new GFS home office.
Kevin Diekevers, GFS Facility Manager, told the project history from design to construction and the building's operation. Kevin also touched on the LEED aspect of the project.

February 13, 2013 - Property Appeal Process: Jon Aylsworth of Property Tax Consultants reviewed the appeal process. Jeff Genzink of Genzink Appraisal Company answered questions about processes to determine the building market value.
January 9, 2013 - EPAct 2005 and Section 179D: Kellie Bos, Senior Manager, and Lindsey Laber, Tax Manager, from Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC, joined us to give an overview of EPAct 2005 and Section 179D. The presentation went over energy efficient commercial building deductions allowable to building owners/designers and will also touch briefly on other relevant tax topics that affect those who own or lease property, including cost segregations, depreciation, and the new repair regulations. November 14, 2012 - Robert McClure, Vice President of Association Services, BOMA International joined us to give an update on the commercial real estate advocacy efforts at the national level. He also shared information about current BOMA partnerships and programs.
October 10, 2012 - This meeting featured a presentation from ArtPrize® related to the economic statistics of the event on the real estate market. The presentation also touched on the benefits for owners and renters of properties located on the boundaries of the event.
September 12, 2012 - Kris Evans of Consumers Energy Business Solutions provided valuable information on their portfolio of incentive offerings for both gas and electric customers.
April 2012 - We met for our Annual Advocacy Update on April 11th at Mangiamos in Grand Rapids.
May 2012 - Our meeting, held at the Ramaza Plaza, discussed the "demolition" and renovation of the Centerpointe Mall, including the decisions behind the renovation and the entire plan for the space.
June 2012 - The Right Place discussed their economic development role in the community, including their current projects. The meeting was hold at the Salvation Army Kroc Center.
