About the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology

Impact by design. That’s how we empower and elevate.

WMCAT is a nationally-recognized leader in creative youth development and adult workforce development. With a bias toward action and an unrelenting commitment to equity, WMCAT curates a place where teens and adults can elevate their voices and leverage their lived experiences to choose their own unique opportunity pathways. At the forefront of social innovation, WMCAT also operates two social enterprises that are good for clients, good for employees, and good for the community.

Work Force Development

Workforce Development offers under and unemployed men and women the opportunity to learn a new career, grow personally and professionally, and build a network with industry and community leaders.

WMCAT's welcoming environment, small class sizes, and extra support services move adults toward new careers in the medical billing, medical coding, and pharmacy technician fields. These career pathways pay living wages, may offer benefits, and provide opportunity for career advancement.

Creative Programs

WMCAT's nationally-recognized program engages high school students from Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) in creative, tuition-free after school experiences from September through May. WMCAT also offers summer camps for middle and high school students from any school district, plus a paid summer employment opportunity for select teens.

PLEASE RSVP BY December 11.
